Cement pillows floating in water.

Enchanted Stones is a collaborative piece working with embroidery, lace and beadwork designs in cement pillows. The stone pillows respond to the function of the site in front of Kitchener's city hall as a place of rest, both as a physical need and a historical mark. The origin of the patterns brings together three continents: North and South America and Europe; their stories are from different epochs and reference diverse cultural and religious symbols.

Red Tree is a collective of artists, activists and cultural workers. Projects are carried out in collaboration and may involve members, guest artists or other participants. Since 1989 collective members have initiated visual art exhibitions, film and video as well as community art projects. Enchanted Stones is an installation by visual artists Amelia Jiménez, Ingrid Mayrhofer and Shelley Niro.
