Christie/CAFKA Artist in Residence: Dylan Reibling

Toronto-based filmmaker and interactive artist Dylan Reibling has been working in Kitchener as part of the Christie/CAFKA Artist in Residence program. Originally from Baden, Ontario, Dylan Reibling is a documentary filmmaker, stop-motion animator and a pioneer in interactive cinema prototypes. His films have travelled to 50 international film festivals, and most recently, his short film, "Record," has been featured at numerous prestigious film festivals around the world, including screenings at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival, and the British Film Institute. Dylan Reibling won Best Director (fiction) at the 2009 Yorkton Film Festival.

As an interactive artist, his work explores the limits of physical objects and digital technologies, where the lines between the two can blur. His latest prototype/film hybrid, “12 Hour Dolly” was curated for Toronto’s 2011 Nuit Blanche.
