Open Sesame Project Window 2017 - 18
Lèche Vitrine
Anna van Milligen: <3

Anna van Milligen: <3 will be the first Lèche Vitrine installation. Its opening reception is Friday, September 22, 2017, 7 PM, at Open Sesame, 220 King Street West, Kitchener.
Anna van Milligen is a Canadian-American installation artist who is interested in how women construct identities and perform their femininity. Her choice of media includes fake hair, faux fur, and dollar-store beauty enhancements. Van Milligen received her BFA in 2013 from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and her MFA in 2016 from the University of Waterloo. A recipient of the Keith and Win Shantz Fellowship and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship, van Milligen recently completed her MFA at the University of Waterloo with an installation called dollhouse — a hyper-feminine fantasy space constructed within the gutted shell of a 1971 Airstream trailer.
Anna van Milligen lives and works in Guelph, Ontario.
Lèche Vitrine is a collaborative project of CAFKA and Open Sesame that has been made possible with the support of the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund.
