Inspired by the image of falling water, Fujiwara Takahiro has proposed a simple mechanical substitute. Clear, thin vinyl strips are studded with subtly painted foam pads at regular intervals. The vinyl bands are looped and turned by mechanized gears. As they move at different speeds the colours flicker and blend into an impressionistic haze resembling a waterfall.
