Celestial Mechanics is a large scale architecturally site specific wall drawing. Wilson's drawings flirt with abstraction and recall macro views of botanical and astronomical forms. They take on the appearance of intimate, colourful, doodles which have been magnified to larger proportions.
 
About the artist
Kate Wilson's practice has focused on large-scale wall drawing installations, having recently completed a drawing entitled Microbial Baroque at the Saint Mary's University Art Gallery, Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2007 she was invited to participate in Beyond/ In Western New York, 2007 organized by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and created a site-specific piece titled Geometric Sunshine in the large and spacious Lightwell Gallery at the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts. This work was been made possible with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and Club Elements.
